Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service that allows UMFK students, staff, and faculty to borrow materials from other libraries; either print or digital.
Though we do our best to find the resource you need for free, there may be some libraries that charge for the service. If this is the case, we will let you know before ordering the resource. Patrons are required to pay for the cost of retrieval. Though the speed of requests varies, plan on 2-7 days for the arrival of print materials and 1-2 days for digital. Digital is typically in PDF form and fast, though delays have occasionally been known for this format. Once the items arrive, we will contact you.
Patrons can submit their requests by emailing ill.fk@maine.edu or call Dana Appleby at 207-834-7526.

Material on reserve, in reference or special collections, and some video materials are not loaned. The loan period is 4 weeks with a 2-week renewal. Photocopies of articles will be provided. Currently, there are no fees charged for ILL. We prefer to have a reciprocal agreement, but it is not required.
